Dr. Ivanya Alpert, Med School Admissions Consultant at Inspira Advantage

Dr. Alpert is a pediatrician, educator, and admissions mentor with nearly two decades of experience in clinical medicine and medical education. She currently serves as a faculty member at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she teaches medical students and residents and co-facilitates trainee support groups. She also serves on the Mount Sinai Hospital Pediatric Residency admissions committee, where she interviews candidates and participates in the re-review process, drawing on more than 15 years of experience evaluating applicants.

After graduating cum laude with a degree in African American studies from Harvard College, Dr. Alpert explored teaching, writing, law, and political organizing before discovering that her true calling was in medicine. She went on to complete a post-baccalaureate premedical program at New York University (NYU), attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and then trained in pediatrics and adolescent medicine at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Alpert's background in the humanities gives her a distinctive voice as a mentor and coach. With a deep appreciation for storytelling, she helps applicants craft narratives that express their values, motivations, and personal growth. Known for her warmth and insight, she encourages students to approach the admissions process as an opportunity for reflection and self-discovery.
