Dr. Tran is an adult primary care physician working in private practice based in Irvine, California. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a BS in molecular, cell, and developmental biology with cum laude honors before earning an MD from the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Dr. Tran completed his residency training in internal medicine at UC Irvine Health.

Dr. Tran is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California. While attending UCLA, he served as President of the UCLA Saving Hearts Foundation chapter. During Dr. Tran’s undergraduate and medical school career, he was heavily involved in research focused on cardiology, advanced heart failure, advanced care planning in advanced liver diseases, population health, and social determinants of health analyses. His work resulted in ten publications, including research papers and narrative medicine pieces. 

In medical school, Dr. Tran served as Editor-in-Chief of the Florida Medical Student Research Journal, and Program Director of the student-led health fair organization. He was also elected into Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Tran’s clinical focus and interests lie in preventative care, lifestyle and functional medicine, cardiovascular health, advanced care planning, mental health, and nutritional counseling. He has delivered 17 poster presentations including several at high-impact conferences such as the American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology, and the American Public Health Association.

As an admissions coach, Dr. Tran is dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized advising for pre-medical students and is passionate about helping them navigate the often-challenging application process. He is committed to using his extensive involvement in research, volunteering, and leadership, as well as his personal experience in successfully completing the medical school and residency application processes, to help students succeed. 

Dr. Tran has served in multiple capacities as a mentor and advisor to both undergraduate and medical students in applying to medical school and residency programs. He is eager to use his knowledge and extensive experience in helping others to help aspiring students become physicians.
