Dr. Marion is a board-certified pediatric hospitalist with over a decade of experience in mentorship, admissions, and medical education. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a BA in foreign language and literature, then earned an MD from Morehouse School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at the same institution. Dr. Marian served on the admissions committee at Morehouse School of Medicine and the institution’s pediatric residency program.
Dr. Marion has served as both an interviewer and an admissions committee member for medical school and pediatric residency programs at Morehouse School of Medicine for over nine years, including participating in final decision discussions. This experience gives her a nuanced understanding of what admissions committees seek at each stage of the process. She serves as community faculty at Morehouse School of Medicine, where she enjoys teaching and mentoring the next generation of physicians. Since becoming an attending physician, Dr. Marion has been recognized as Community Preceptor of the Year, Community Faculty Member of the Year, and as an exemplar of service on hospital wards, reflecting her commitment to education, leadership, and patient care. She currently works as a pediatric hospitalist at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
With 10 years of mentoring experience with learners ranging from undergraduates to residents in their final year, Dr. Marion understands how different each applicant's journey can be and how to tailor collaboration. As someone who gained admission to 16 medical schools and has benefited greatly from individualized mentorship, Dr. Marion understands that adaptability and flexibility are a must throughout the application process.
