Dr. Hasani’s academic career is anchored in rigorous research and innovation. He has held multiple research fellowships at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), including a highly competitive Intramural Research Training Award, where he led projects in advanced CT imaging, radiomics, and AI-driven medical image analysis. His work has resulted in numerous peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, such as European Radiology, European Respiratory Journal, Chest, and PLOS ONE, with national presentations at the Radiological Society of North American, American Thoracic Society, and NIH scientific meetings. He has also contributed to the evaluation and training of large language models for medical reasoning through his work with OpenAI.
In parallel with his academic work, Dr. Hasani has extensive, hands-on experience guiding applicants through the medical school admissions process. He has worked as a freelance admissions coach, supporting a broad and diverse group of applicants with primary and secondary application drafting, personal statement development, and narrative refinement. Additionally, he served as an admissions assistant at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where he participated directly in interviewing applicants and reviewing application materials—providing him with firsthand insight into how admissions committees assess academic readiness, personal fit, and long-term potential.
Dr. Hasani has also spent over a decade teaching and mentoring students at multiple stages of training, including as an instructor and private tutor for pre-medical coursework and the MCAT. His leadership roles within medical school and national organizations further inform his understanding of how applicants can distinguish themselves beyond metrics alone. He is particularly adept at helping traditional, non-traditional, and re-applicants identify their strengths and translate diverse experiences into a cohesive and compelling application.
