Our Interview With Liz Bradbury, CEO & Board Chair at Keystone Equality

December 19, 2025

Inspira Advantage recently interviewed Liz Bradbury, the CEO & Board Chair at Keystone Equality.  Learn how our med school admissions consulting services can help you gain admission to medical school today.

What makes the work at Keystone Equality unique in advancing LGBTQ health and equity?

Keystone Equality is a state-wide LGBTQ+ advocacy and political organization in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania does not have a legislated non-discrimination civil rights law inclusive of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. Keystone Equality is the only PA state-wide organization actively and successfully working to help write and pass local progressive municipal non-discrimination laws and human relations ordinances that are fully inclusive of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression, especially county-wide legislation, that aims to not only protect against bias in employment, housing, public accommodation, and education, but also in HEALTHCARE.

What are some of your recent initiatives that have contributed to more inclusive healthcare for the LGBTQ+ community?

Leaders of Keystone Equality helped to write and pass the most progressive county Human Relations ordinance in PA in Lehigh County, It passed onto law in 2024. It makes healthcare bias against LGBTQ+ people illegal anywhere in Lehigh County, PA. In 2025, leaders of Keystone Equality helped legislators in the City of Allentown, the Borough of Collingdale, and in Chester and Delaware Counties, pass inclusive human relations ordinances using the Lehigh County language. These 5 passages have protected more than 1,669,000 people in PA from discrimination, including prohibiting healthcare discrimination, who were formerly unprotected.

What lessons or qualities should future doctors and healthcare leaders develop if they want to provide more inclusive care?

Future doctors and healthcare providers should commit to advocate for and lobby for legislated legal healthcare protections in their political subdivisions and municipalities that are fully inclusive of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression.

Inspira Advantage is proud to interview experts like Liz Bradbury to help pre-med students understand the importance of culturally responsive care and inclusive support for diverse communities.
