Dr. Bregio's educational journey began at the Honors College at Miami Dade College, where she graduated with Highest Honors and Distinction. She later transferred to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Carolina Covenant Scholar, a distinction that ensured her a debt-free undergraduate education. At both institutions, Dr. Bregio actively participated in community service, mentorship, and research initiatives, receiving several accolades for her academic achievement and community impact. Her dedication to scientific research culminated in the completion of a senior honors thesis in chemistry, poster presentations, and publication in a peer-reviewed journal. After graduating, she spent a year as a research fellow at the National Institute of Health through an Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) Fellowship.

As a medical student at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, Dr. Bregio further cultivated her passion for research, patient care advocacy, and mentorship. Her clinical and scientific endeavors in health equity and cancer care resulted in multiple oral presentations at the national level, peer-reviewed publications, and awards for her outstanding achievements, including the Scholars in Oncology Associated Research (SOAR) Grant. She remained steadfast in her commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in medicine by mentoring underrepresented students and actively contributing to the medical school admissions process. 

Dr. Bregio's leadership and dedication to admissions work led to her invitation to serve as a voting member of the admissions committee during medical school, an honor extended to only 12 students in the class. In this role, she served as a primary student interviewer during the admissions cycle and reviewed, evaluated, and presented candidates at committee meetings. Before this, she spent three years interviewing candidates and served as the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) admissions representative, leading dialogue between current and prospective URM students during interview day activities.

As an admissions coach, Dr. Bregio encourages students to break down the application timeline into manageable steps, recognizing that a systematic approach is pivotal for reaching milestones without burning out or feeling rushed. She enjoys helping students tell their stories and highlight their strengths through their personal statement narratives, providing constructive feedback, and engaging students in reflection to identify and dig deeper into underdeveloped areas. She is also proficient in Spanish.

An accomplished researcher, Dr. Chokkara is passionate about improving healthcare outcomes and the quality of care. He has published numerous studies examining the treatment of patients with COPD and asthma, as well as research on the inclusivity of COVID-19 clinical trials for traditionally underrepresented patient populations. 

Throughout his medical career, Dr. Chokkara has conducted extensive research applying informatics and machine learning to analyze national trends in healthcare quality and develop readmission prediction tools. These experiences have sharpened his analytical skills and given him unique insight into the potential of emerging technologies to drive data-driven decision-making in medicine. Looking ahead, he hopes to explore how big data and machine learning can be leveraged to enhance patient care.

Dr. Chokkara has also served as a teaching assistant for several courses at the University of Chicago. His experience interviewing prospective students has given him an insider’s perspective on the medical school admissions process, deepening his understanding of what makes an applicant stand out. He leverages this expertise to help students strengthen their applications and navigate this pivotal stage of their careers. For him, the most rewarding part of advising is helping applicants find their voice and present their most authentic, compelling selves. Students he has coached have gained acceptance to top medical schools such as Case Western, Northwestern, the University of Miami, Texas A&M, and Tulane.

One of Dr. Chokkara’s greatest strengths as a coach is guiding applicants in crafting compelling narratives that showcase their motivations for pursuing medicine. While many candidates have strong experiences and aspirations, articulating them in a way that highlights their individuality can be challenging. He believes the best coaching blends structured, goal-oriented guidance with adaptability, ensuring each applicant’s unique journey is authentically represented. His approach breaks the application process into clear, manageable steps that empower students to succeed.

Passionate about mentorship, Dr. Chokkara is eager to share his knowledge and experiences with aspiring medical students, helping them navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead as they work toward becoming skilled and compassionate healthcare professionals.

Dr. Keegan’s academic journey began at Georgetown University, where she graduated summa cum laude with a BS in biology of global health and Spanish. During college, Dr. Keegan demonstrated a strong commitment to research, education, and community service. She worked on research projects in breast cancer, evolutionary medicine, and health disparities in Washington, DC, and was a teaching assistant for the biology department. Her leadership skills were evident in her role as the leader of a student organization focused on health and medical equity, and she volunteered as a medical interpreter at a local free clinic.

Dr. Keegan's academic excellence was recognized through several awards, including the biology department and Spanish departments' graduating senior awards at Georgetown. Her senior thesis was published in the Journal of Evolutionary Medicine and Public Health, and her research on breast cancer was published in the American Journal of Pathology. Additionally, she worked on a book chapter that has since been published about increasing DEI in oncology clinical trials.

Dr. Keegan's passion for community service is evident in her role as the Program Director for the Chicagoland Free Clinics Consortium during her first year in medical school. Her dedication to helping others and her expertise in medical school admissions position her as a knowledgeable mentor for students navigating the challenging application process. Additionally, she has presented at multiple national conferences at Pritzker, and is a Phi Beta Kappa member and Schweitzer Fellow.

As a mentor, Dr. Keegan brings her mix of research experience, teaching skills, and passion for community service to guide aspiring medical students through the complexities of medical school admissions. Her approach is supportive and insightful, drawing from her own experiences navigating the medical school application process. Students she’s worked with have been accepted to programs including Dartmouth, Ohio State, and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
