At UC Santa Barbara, Yousef earned Dean’s Honors recognition and received the Connie Frank Scholarship. He has also conducted research in genetics, cancer biology, and cellular communication. Throughout college, Yousef tutored organic chemistry and worked with students to help them master scientific concepts and develop effective study strategies. He has mentored many pre-meds through every stage of the application process, including course planning, extracurricular involvement, personal statement development, interview preparation, and MCAT tutoring. Yousef has also worked extensively in clinical settings as a medical assistant and medical scribe in orthopedic surgery and emergency medicine, providing him with firsthand insight into the application of scientific concepts in patient care.
Yousef has supported numerous students on their MCAT prep journeys. Students he has worked with have earned acceptances to Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. He has helped students achieve MCAT scores as high as 524, with an average score increase of 10–12 points.
As an MCAT tutor, Yousef emphasizes conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and personalized instruction tailored to each student’s learning style. His goal is to help students achieve exceptional scores while building the confidence and problem-solving skills they will need throughout their medical careers.
