Riha’s academic work extends beyond the classroom into aging research, neuroscience, and anesthesiology. She co-authored a peer-reviewed study examining anti-aging phenotypes associated with PAPP-A deletion in mice, which was published by the National Institutes of Health in GeroScience. Her research experience also includes a poster from the University of Michigan Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program, as well as anesthesiology posters presented at national and regional conferences. Riha also brings patient-facing experience from her work as a phlebotomist with University Health Service at the University of Michigan. Through clinical work and community service, she has developed a compassionate, patient-centered perspective that translates naturally to tutoring.
Riha believes that the best mentors combine empathy with high standards, helping students build confidence as they master difficult concepts. Her strengths lie in simplifying complex material, creating efficient study plans, and helping students focus on the highest-yield resources to maximize their progress. Students she has tutored have been accepted to medical schools such as the University of Michigan Medical School, the University of Virginia Medical School, and Wayne State University College of Medicine.
As an MCAT tutor, Riha is committed to helping each student achieve their goals. She takes the time to understand every student's strengths, learning style, and challenges, tailoring strategies that promote academic success and long-term confidence. Whether reviewing difficult content, refining test-taking strategies, or providing motivation throughout the process, Riha strives to make the MCAT journey more approachable, effective, and rewarding.
