Undergrad: York University
Beyond the classroom, Parmis has accumulated over 2,000 hours of biomedical research experience and is the first author of a peer-reviewed publication in the Journal of Chemical Education. Her research was supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Undergraduate Student Research Award, a prestigious national grant that funds outstanding undergraduate researchers. She is also the Founder of Project Tight Knit, a nonprofit initiative that has helped reduce social isolation among nursing home residents by coordinating the delivery of over 1,500 handwritten letters across Canada—work that was recognized with a York University Agents of Change Grant.
Parmis has worked as a leadership coach at York University and as an instructor at Kumon, where she developed her ability to break down complex material for learners at different levels. With years of tutoring experience, Parmis is passionate about helping students develop a deep understanding of the science behind the MCAT while building the critical thinking and test-taking strategies needed to excel. She believes that every student's unique academic and personal background can be used to their advantage when preparing for the exam and tailors her teaching to each individual's strengths, learning style, and goals. Her supportive and structured approach helps students build confidence and reach their full potential.
