Navya's passion for teaching began during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she tutored elementary school students in algebra, reading, and science. This experience showed her the power of visual learning paired with incrementally challenging practice problems, an approach that earned praise from families for significantly improving students' academic readiness. She later served as an MCAT tutor at California Northstate University. She has also served as a CNA and respite caregiver at United Cerebral Palsy, and currently works as a registered behavior technician at Howard's Autism Learning Center.
Navya's strengths are rooted in her analytical approach to the exam's reasoning demands, particularly in the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS) section. While preparing for test day, Navya identified efficient approaches for reviewing high-yield content, selecting effective practice materials, and analyzing difficult passages. In particular, she became interested in the reasoning strategies behind MCAT passages. Navya learned how to identify distractor information, focus on the core idea of dense passages, and systematically break down wrong answer choices. By carefully reviewing explanations over time, she refined methods that made complex questions feel more manageable and approachable.
As an MCAT tutor, Navya's strengths are rooted in her analytical approach to the exam's reasoning demands, particularly in the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS) section. She emphasizes visual explanations, high-yield concepts, and structured reasoning techniques. Rather than simply correcting mistakes, she works with students to map out “wrong answer pathologies” step by step, helping them understand how assumptions, biases, or misinterpretations can lead them astray. She also teaches students how to extract useful clues directly from passages, even when content knowledge feels incomplete.
