Nathan worked as an anesthesia technician at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, supporting anesthesia providers in complex procedures and high-acuity cases. He previously gained experience as an anesthesia assistant at a private practice group and as a medical assistant at a pain management surgery center. Nathan also served as a clinical research assistant at the Sansum Diabetes Research Institute. He has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in anesthesiology, opioid use disorder, and pain management, with work appearing in journals such as Cureus and Anaesthesia, Pain & Intensive Care. He has also presented case reports at the California Society of Interventional Pain Physicians Annual Meeting on topics including perioperative management and trigeminal nerve blocks.
During his time at UC Santa Barbara, Nathan served as an undergraduate learning assistant in the Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology Department, leading weekly review sessions, creating practice materials, and holding office hours for courses including Human Physiology, Molecular Genetics, and Introductory Biology. Nathan also served as a mentor through the Regents Scholar program, offering academic and pre-med guidance to a fellow biology major. These experiences taught Nathan that students struggling academically often needed confidence, structure, and someone who believed in them.
Nathan brings that same philosophy to MCAT tutoring. His approach emphasizes active learning, study plans that cater to a student’s specific needs, and building strong test-taking habits rather than relying solely on memorization. Nathan hopes to not only help students improve their MCAT scores but also to make them more confident learners and future applicants. For him, watching students build confidence and achieve academic success is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.
