Mohamad L

As a peer tutor and teaching assistant in Amherst College's Chemistry and Biochemistry Departments, Mohamad spent hundreds of hours helping students navigate foundational courses such as organic chemistry and biochemistry. He is experienced in both one-on-one and small-group instruction, and his time in the classroom has helped him hone the skills necessary to break down complex material into clear, digestible explanations. He graduated magna cum laude with an honors thesis in chemistry and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi Honor Societies. After graduation, Mohamad worked as a patient care technician at Methodist Health System, gaining firsthand clinical experience before beginning medical school.

Mohamad first discovered his passion for teaching through those early tutoring roles at Amherst, and the positive feedback he received from students motivated him to continue refining his approach. He works closely with each student to identify areas of improvement, build personalized study schedules, and develop strategies tailored to different learning styles. Students consistently praise his ability to explain difficult concepts in simple, intuitive terms and his patience in adapting his methods to meet each learner where they are.
