Katrina D., Private MCAT Tutor at Inspira Advantage

Katrina graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a Bachelor of Science in human biology and a minor in communication design. She was awarded the half-tuition USC Presidential Merit Scholarship and graduated with Global Scholar Distinction. Katrina has five years of tutoring experience and is committed to helping students feel confident as they prepare for the MCAT.

Katrina's teaching journey began in high school, when she was first formally trained as a tutor and realized how much she enjoyed helping others learn. She has served as a youth yoga instructor, program assistant, and peer educator for the USC Joint Educational Project, a summer math tutor with East Palo Alto Tennis and Tutoring, and as a Youth Development and Success Mentor with AmeriCorps. At USC, Katrina also worked as a medical scribe at Medical Oncology Associates of San Diego, where she gained firsthand exposure to clinical care and the patient–physician relationship. These diverse roles have helped Katrina continue to develop her skills as an educator.

As a tutor, Katrina values a collaborative, supportive environment. She believes flexibility and adaptability are key to putting an effective study system into practice, so she works with each student to figure out what works and what doesn't. She recognizes that every student has a different learning style, schedule, and academic background, and she prioritizes building a personalized plan that feels achievable and sustainable. Katrina is passionate about supporting each student's broader goal of becoming a physician and hopes to be a valuable part of that journey by helping students build effective study habits, develop consistency, and gain the confidence needed to succeed on test day.
