Kamal R.

Kamal's graduate research at the University of Ottawa focused on the role of chloride channels in brain cancer stem cells, and his work has been published in Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, a Nature journal. He is also a first author on a review of cancer stem cell regulation in glioblastoma, published in Current Topics in Membranes. Beyond the lab, Kamal serves as a sexual health educator with the Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention and engages with the intersection of science and creative practice as an art-scientist with ArtSci Salon. 

Kamal has four years of experience working as an MCAT tutor and strategy instructor. He has mentored cohorts of students in live MCAT courses and has provided personalized guidance to students one-on-one. Kamal has designed and delivered customized MCAT lessons and homework and has developed content demystifying MCAT topics that has reached thousands online. The combination of his rigorous research experience and community-based health education informs the depth and approachability he brings to tutoring.
