Jonathan is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where he majored in Neuroscience. While an undergraduate, he did extensive basic and clinical research in the fields of Neurology, Orthopedics, and Anesthesiology. After graduating with Honors, he completed his MD at Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine, where he performed research in Anesthesiology and participated in a healthcare administrative internship.
Jonathan also served as a member of the Admissions Committee while at the Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine, both for the MD and BS/MD programs. He was intimately involved in the application process, where he interviewed numerous candidates and gained extensive training in application review. Jonathan is currently a resident in Anesthesiology at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell. He has published papers on infection prevention and quality improvement protocols during residency.
Jonathan has spent time in healthcare administration and intends to pursue this extensively after completing his residency, giving him a unique perspective of the high-level changes in healthcare applicable to incoming applicants. Jonathan has also founded his own start-up company dedicated to infection prevention in the healthcare setting. The company has filed patents, raised seven figures in investment dollars, and is bringing products to the market at large. He was the winner of Innovate LI, Innovator of the Year award for his work on the company.
