Ira's experience bridges clinical medicine, research, and community service. She has contributed to research at multiple institutions, including Harvard Medical School, USC, Johns Hopkins University, Duke Global Neurosurgery, and the Kennedy Krieger Institute, with projects spanning neurotrauma systems, neurosurgical oncology, refugee health, Parkinson's disease, emergency preparedness, and global neurosurgery. Her research has resulted in peer-reviewed publications, national and international conference presentations, and manuscripts currently under review. Passionate about advancing healthcare access for underserved populations, Ira has worked extensively with refugees, asylum seekers, unhoused communities, and individuals living with neurodegenerative diseases. She founded H2Care, a mobile health initiative designed to connect refugee and immigrant communities with culturally competent healthcare providers, and has served in leadership roles supporting asylum medicine, global health initiatives, and community outreach programs domestically and internationally, including as a Global Service Fellow in Ethiopia. In addition to her research and service, Ira is an experienced educator, having served as a teaching assistant at Johns Hopkins University, a research coordinator managing multidisciplinary teams, and the leader of student organizations focused on global health, cultural engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

As an MCAT tutor, Ira specializes in the Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems and Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems sections.
