Undergrad: Duke University
After graduating from Duke, Hiroka spent more than 3 years at ZS Associates as a pharmaceutical strategy consultant, where she worked with global pharmaceutical companies to identify areas of high unmet medical need across the Asia-Pacific market. Her work sparked an interest in medicine, leading her to gain clinical experience as a medical assistant while working full-time before transitioning into a career in medicine. She completed pre-health prerequisites on an accelerated timeline through her post-bacc program while balancing work, clinical experience, and volunteering. Her tutoring experience also includes working with elementary and middle school students from diverse backgrounds, as well as traditional and non-traditional pre-medical students.
Hiroka believes that effective MCAT preparation should be individualized. She took the MCAT with a limited preparation period, giving her firsthand experience navigating the challenge of preparing for the exam alongside a busy schedule and competing responsibilities. Drawing from her own preparation and extensive exploration of study resources, she helps students identify the strategies, resources, and study habits that work best for them. Hiroka is passionate about creating a supportive, collaborative environment where students can learn from their mistakes, build confidence, and see their hard work translate into their performance.
