Eric Liu, Private MCAT Tutor at Inspira Advantage

Eric graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry and minors in statistics and computer science. He has four years of tutoring experience and scored a 525 on the MCAT on his first attempt, earning perfect marks in the Bio/Biochem and Psych/Soc sections. Currently, Eric works as a research technician in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Washington University School of Medicine.

At WashU, Eric has co-authored peer-reviewed publications on cancers, including glioblastoma and cervical cancer. His work has been published in Neuro-Oncology Advances and Cancer Research. His research experience has taught him how to read dense scientific literature and think critically about data, skills that translate directly to how he tutors students to ace the MCAT. On the clinical side, Eric worked as a patient care associate in a pediatric orthopedic surgery clinic at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Being around patients and families gave him a deeper appreciation for the human side of medicine and helps him frame MCAT concepts in ways that feel relevant and memorable.

Eric has been tutoring for four years, drawing on a teaching foundation he built as a math teaching assistant with Art of Problem Solving. He has worked with everyone from undergrads just starting their pre-med journeys to PhD graduates. No matter the student, Eric’s goal is the same: make the material feel manageable and build genuine confidence along the way. Eric believes the most important step in MCAT preparation is developing a strategy and staying consistent. He builds attainable yet effective study goals and constantly revises weekly study plans to match each student's strengths, weaknesses, and schedule. His approach is highly personalized and flexible, and he works with students to find what sticks.
