Undergrad: Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Medical School: Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine
At MIT, Edward was awarded the Edwards Lifesciences Foundation Award for his strong record of academic achievement and served as an undergraduate biology tutor. He also held multiple leadership and training roles with MIT Emergency Medical Services, including Chief, Training Officer, Class Officer, and Field Training Officer. Across nearly four years, he accumulated 2,700+ hours providing emergency medical care while mentoring and training new EMTs. These experiences taught him how to tailor his teaching style to each individual, helping students identify their strengths, address weaknesses, and build confidence in high-pressure situations. Edward applies this same approach to MCAT tutoring, emphasizing efficient study strategies, critical reasoning, and test-taking skills alongside content mastery.
Edward further strengthened his scientific expertise through clinical outcomes research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, contributing to projects involving cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. He also completed a quantitative research internship at NAVER, expanding his analytical skill set beyond the biological sciences. After graduating from MIT, Edward continued working as an EMT in Southern California, adding to a clinical background that helps him connect foundational science with real-world medical contexts.
As an MCAT tutor, Edward excels at breaking down challenging scientific concepts, identifying knowledge gaps, and helping students develop effective strategies for high-pressure exams. Edward emphasizes efficient study strategies, critical reasoning, test-taking skills, and durable content mastery while adapting his teaching style to each student’s strengths and areas for growth.
