Medical School: Medical College of Georgia
Before attending the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Kimbler earned a Bachelor of Science in marine biology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Georgia. Her undergraduate achievements include recognition as an Undergraduate Regenerative Bioscience Fellow, multiple Dean's List honors, and her receipt of the Zell Miller Scholarship. During college, she served as an ORISE Fellow at the Army Medical Research Institute for Chemical Defense. At the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Kimbler won the Clinical Outcome and Case Report Award on Annual Research Day.
Throughout her medical training, Dr. Kimbler remained deeply committed to mentorship and advising, helping students strengthen their applications through personal statement development, interview preparation, school selection, and strategic application planning. Her experience navigating the path to medicine as a first-generation applicant without extensive mentorship has shaped her supportive and personalized approach as an admissions counselor.
Dr. Kimbler's admissions experience provides a valuable perspective for applicants seeking guidance throughout the medical school application process. As a student interviewer for the Medical College of Georgia Admissions Committee, she conducted MMIs, evaluated candidates, and provided detailed assessments of applicant performance. This experience allows her to help students better understand the admissions process while developing authentic and competitive applications that effectively communicate their strengths and experiences.
Dr. Kimbler believes that every applicant has a unique story, background, and set of goals that deserve personalized attention. Rather than applying a standardized formula, she takes time to understand each student's strengths, concerns, and aspirations before developing a tailored plan for success. Her coaching style is collaborative and student-driven. She enjoys helping applicants identify areas where they feel least confident and working together to transform perceived weaknesses into opportunities for growth.
Above all, Dr. Kimbler strives to create a supportive environment where students feel genuinely known, encouraged, and empowered. She believes that the strongest applications are built not only on accomplishments, but also on authentic self-reflection and a clear understanding of one's personal journey into medicine. She is honored to help future physicians tell their stories and achieve their goals.
