Dr. Tim Guerriero, Med School Admissions Consultant at Inspira Advantage

Dr. Guerriero is a general surgery resident at the University of Miami. He earned an MD from Florida State University College of Medicine, where he served on the admissions committee as an interviewer. He has guided students toward acceptances at the University of Florida College of Medicine, the University of Miami School of Medicine, Texas A&M University College of Medicine, Eastern Virginia Medical School, and Florida State University College of Medicine, among others.

Before medical school, Dr. Guerriero earned a BS in chemistry from the University of Florida, where he received multiple Dean's List recognitions and graduated at the top of his class. He gained early clinical exposure working as a medical scribe at UF Health Shands and as a pharmacy technician, experiences that provided him with early exposure to patient care and the realities of modern healthcare systems. During medical school, Dr. Guerriero received substantial scholarship awards in recognition of his dedication to underserved communities and his contributions to the mission of the college. He graduated in the top 25% of his medical school class and earned acceptance opportunities from several residency programs before beginning surgical training at the University of Miami.

Dr. Guerriero's research background spans cancer biology, genomics, drug delivery systems, and clinical medicine. He was selected as a Summer Research Fellow and awarded funding for his investigation of DNA damage response kinetics. He has also contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications in outlets including the Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, the Journal of Clinical and Translational Endocrinology: Case Reports, and the Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine.

As an admissions coach, Dr. Guerriero is particularly skilled at helping students identify and communicate the qualities that make them unique applicants rather than forcing them into a “cookie-cutter” mold. His mentorship focuses on helping students present themselves authentically while strategically maximizing the strengths of their application.
