Before medical school, Dr. Kochat earned a BS in human biology with a minor in business from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was awarded the UT Presidential Scholarship. While working toward his MD, Dr. Kochat concurrently completed an MBA from the University of Houston. After completing his MD, he went on to complete an anesthesiology residency at Duke University Health System and an internal medicine residency at Novant Health. He has also contributed to the medical field through research publications in Current Pain and Headache Reports, Pain Practice, and the Journal of Surgical Education, demonstrating his commitment to advancing clinical knowledge and evidence-based care.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kochat has gained extensive experience in various settings, including intraoperative care, intensive care units, and ambulatory care centers. With a business background, Dr. Kochat has a deep understanding of the medical ecosystem, from health policy to healthcare economics. He hopes to continue to influence the future of health care, making it more affordable and accessible.
