Before attending Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Sathi graduated from the College of William & Mary, where she studied neuroscience and public health as a Monroe Scholar. At Georgetown, she took on leadership roles within the student-run free clinic and Physicians for Human Rights, deepening her commitment to advocacy and expanding access to care for underserved communities. Dr. Sathi was also inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
During her psychiatry residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Sathi participated in both the Rural and Public Mental Health Track and the Clinician-Educator Track, providing psychiatric care in mental health shortage areas across Texas while honing her skills in teaching and mentorship. She organized educational programming on trauma-informed care, conducted simulation sessions for medical students during their psychiatry clerkships, and facilitated discussions on racism and mental health. Dr. Sathi also contributed to residency recruitment and group interviewing efforts at UT Southwestern. After completing her residency, Dr. Sathi plans to complete a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Georgetown University.
Dr. Sathi is a published researcher with scholarly work spanning psychiatry and dermatology. Her publications include research on the effect of meditation versus escitalopram on work performance in patients with anxiety disorders in the Journal of Affective Disorders, a case report on eccrine porocarcinoma in skin of color in SKIN The Journal of Cutaneous Medicine, and a study on autoimmune bullous diseases in Clinics in Dermatology. She has presented her research at national conferences, including the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) annual meetings.
In addition to her clinical, educational, and research work, Dr. Sathi has served as an admissions consultant for several years, reviewing and advising on hundreds of applications across the medical education pipeline. This experience has given her unique insight into what distinguishes successful applicants, how to craft compelling narratives, and how to position students for admission to the programs that best align with their goals.
As a coach, Dr. Sathi takes a highly personalized, collaborative, and strengths-based approach. She believes every applicant has a unique story worth telling and works closely with students to identify the experiences, values, and accomplishments that will resonate most with admissions committees. Her training as a psychiatrist allows her to provide not only strategic guidance but also emotional support throughout what can often be a stressful and overwhelming process. She strives to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns, and developing confidence in their abilities.
