Before attending the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine, Dr. Kneeland graduated from Montana State University Honors College with dual degrees in microbiology and cell biology and neuroscience. Originally from Montana, she gained hands-on clinical experience after graduation, first working as a certified nursing assistant and sterile processing department technician at Bozeman Health, then as an ophthalmic technician at Medical Eye Specialists. These roles deepened her understanding of patient care and solidified her commitment to a career in medicine.
Dr. Kneeland dedicated extensive time to mentoring prospective medical students through formal programs and coaching relationships, working with high school and undergraduate students interested in pursuing medicine. Dr. Kneeland was recognized as an MSU Premier Scholar during her undergraduate years and received several scholarships and awards throughout her training. Dr. Kneeland is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health with a focus on international medicine and public health at the Institute for International Medicine.
As a coach, Dr. Kneeland is passionate about finding ways to help students succeed and showcase their unique backgrounds and talents to admissions committees. Having many hobbies and interests outside of medicine has given her experience crafting application materials that highlight an individual's unique strengths. She believes that every applicant brings something distinctive to the table and is committed to helping students tell their stories with confidence and authenticity.
