Dr. Coveleskie’s graduate work at UCLA led to scientific publications and extensive conference participation, reflecting her enthusiasm for sharing research and engaging with the broader scientific community. Since completing her PhD, Dr. Coveleskie has remained at the forefront of research and innovation at the intersection of clinical research and technology. She worked as a Clinical Research Scientist at Science 37 and later as a Program Manager for Clinical Technology Innovations at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. She has developed and implemented endpoints for clinical research trials in dermatology, neurology, psychiatry, cystic fibrosis, and other rare diseases. Her work has influenced National Institutes of Health guidelines, standard operating procedures, and the patient experience when it comes to technology use for decentralized clinical trials.
Throughout her career, Dr. Coveleskie has maintained a strong commitment to teaching and mentorship. She spent years at UCLA working with undergrads (particularly pre-meds) and graduate and medical students as a mentor in her research lab. She also taught undergraduate neuroscience courses. Students who Dr. Coveleskie has mentored have gone on to become MDs, DOs, dentists, and successful PhD researchers themselves.
Dr. Coveleskie has experience mentoring students in research topics spanning behavioral and social sciences in health, molecular biology, neuroscience, physiology, and integrative biology. One of her greatest strengths is helping young researchers discover and develop their own passions and interests. Her goal is to show others how the foundations of research can serve as building blocks for success in any career or life path.
