Undergrad: Rutgers University
Medical School: St. George’s University School of Medicine
Before attending St. George’s University School of Medicine, Dr. Amador-Jimenez graduated from Rutgers University with a BS in public health. She then completed her internal medicine residency through New York Medical College at St. Mary’s General Hospital and Saint Clare’s Health, followed by fellowship training in hospice and palliative medicine at UT Health San Antonio. Today, she serves as a staff physician in the Hospital in Home Program in San Antonio, Texas, where she delivers hospital-level palliative and primary care to veterans in their home environment.
Throughout her educational journey and training, Dr. Amador-Jimenez has developed extensive medical education across internal medicine, palliative care, and geriatrics. Her teaching in palliative care—including goals-of-care communication and complex clinical case analysis—gave students a practical framework for navigating the most challenging conversations in medicine. She also founded the first Business of Medicine elective at NYMC, presenting the curriculum at the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM) national meeting.
Dr. Amador-Jimenez helps students find and articulate the story that is already there. Drawing on her training in palliative care, she guides students through uncertainty, helps them identify what matters most to them, and clearly communicates next steps. Dr. Amador-Jimenez works closely with each student to uncover their authentic strengths, build a compelling narrative, and present themselves with purpose and confidence. From personal statement development and teaching interview skills to delivering bedside clinical instruction, Dr. Amador-Jimenez has consistently helped students secure positions in their target programs. Her coaching is strategic and deeply personal, because she understands that the hardest part of medical school acceptance is rarely the application itself—it is learning to believe that your journey is more than enough.
