Medical School: Drexel University College of Medicine
Before attending the Drexel University College of Medicine, Dr. Kalmanovich graduated with honors from SUNY at Binghamton University with a degree in integrative neuroscience. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he developed an early fascination with the human brain that would shape his career path. After graduation, he spent two gap years gaining clinical and educational experience before enrolling in medical school, working as a contact tracer and MCAT tutor. These foundational experiences deeply solidified his clinical resolve and passion for medical education.
At Drexel University College of Medicine, Dr. Kalmanovich was selected to serve as a student ambassador and the Admissions Committee Representative for multiple class years, during which he reviewed applications, conducted formal interviews, and participated in holistic admissions decisions. He also co-founded the Intercontinental Omni-Research in Medicine (ICORMed) Collaborative, an international medical student research organization, and has authored over 10 peer-reviewed publications in journals including Postgraduate Medical Journal, Annals of Medicine and Surgery, BioFactors, World Neurosurgery: X, and the Journal of Neuroscience Research. His academic excellence earned him the Preclinical Academic Award and induction into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Now a neurology resident at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Dr. Kalmanovich draws on his eight years of medical school mentoring experience to demystify the admissions process and help applicants regain a sense of agency and confidence. He specializes in helping students build structured, line-by-line narrative frameworks for their AMCAS, AACOMAS, and TMDSAS applications, turning a rigorous process into an opportunity for genuine self-expression. He is passionately dedicated to advising the next generation of physicians with empathy, nuance, and strategic insight.
