While completing her PhD, Brahmbhatt characterized small-molecule modulators of apoptotic proteins for applications in cancer and stroke treatment. During her graduate studies, she was supported by a Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Fellowship. Her doctoral research led to several publications, including original studies and field reviews, in journals such as BBA Molecular Cell Research, Clinical Cancer Research, Biochemical Journal, eLife Sciences, EMBO Journal, and Cell Chemical Biology.
Across her research leadership roles at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Brahmbhatt partnered closely with clinical teams to ensure manufacturing approaches prioritized patient safety and drug quality, translating rigorous research principles into real-world therapeutic development. Dr. Brahmbhatt has also shared her expertise through industry-recognized webinars and technical publications, contributing insights to outlets such as Pharma’s Almanac and Cell & Gene Therapy Insights. Her innovations in gene therapy manufacturing resulted in the filing of two patent applications. She went on to found her own company, Evaara Services, where she focuses on leadership and personal growth through coaching and mentoring.
Dr. Brahmbhatt’s passion for mentoring began during an undergraduate biochemistry course, where her professors took a deep dive into two research papers, where they unpacked the reasoning and methodology behind studies and demonstrated how a single experimental component led to misleading observations and misinterpreted results. Through this course, she developed a rigorous critical-thinking framework for evaluating scientific research.
Dr. Brahmbhatt’s research mentorship approach focuses on curiosity and methodological rigor, emphasizing unbiased interpretation of existing literature, sound study design, robust data interpretation, and clear articulation of study limitations and constraints. She has applied this approach in training scientists from diverse educational and professional backgrounds, fostering their professional development. She also became a John Maxwell-certified coach and mentor, enhancing her ability to support and develop mentees.
