Dr. Dhargalkar has served on numerous hospital-wide committees focused on strategy, operations, and hospital throughput. As the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director at Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital, Dr. Dhargalkar spent nine years overseeing all paramedics across multiple ambulance units, including training, quality improvement, and certification and recertification. As the creator and physician lead of her hospital’s provider wellness program, Dr. Dhargalkar focuses on identifying burnout and resilience issues among a medical staff of over 600 physicians and 200 advanced practice providers, and has created, implemented, and run several initiatives to this end. She also serves as Medical Director of the Immaculata University Student Health Center. Dr. Dhargalkar has mentored students from high school through medical school and inside and outside of the emergency department. She has an open, honest approach when talking to students about academic and professional choices. The undergraduate students she has mentored have all successfully matriculated into medical school, with many receiving acceptances to their top-choice programs.

As a mentor, Dr. Dhargalkar is highly organized and works with applicants to set reasonable goals and deadlines while allowing for flexibility as they move through the application process. She focuses on helping students narrow down their “why” and craft a narrative based on their central mission. She is eager to help all students achieve their goals, whatever they may be.
