Before attending Ross University School of Medicine, Dr. Dawson earned a BS in chemistry and biochemistry with a minor in Spanish from Northern Kentucky University. Her undergraduate career included founding and running an organization called BEYOND (Bettering Education for Young Adults of The Next Decade), which mentored students and prepared them for higher education. She received multiple awards, including the Northern Kentucky Medical Society Educational Scholarship and the Dean's List Honoree Award. She also joined the Tri Beta Biological Honor Society, presented at conferences, and worked as a Lead Chemist at Dubois Chemicals after graduation.
Dr. Dawson transitioned from a prior professional field to pursue her dream of becoming a physician. She has over 10 years of research experience, both academic and clinical, and has published several papers, abstracts, and a medical book. Throughout her career, Dr. Dawson has demonstrated a strong commitment to mentorship, helping numerous applicants with developing winning scholarship, medical school, and residency applications and essays.
One of Dr. Dawson’s greatest strengths as an advisor is her ability to easily connect and establish rapport with students. With over seven years of mentorship experience, Dr. Dawson understands how to work well with others and communicate in ways that respect each individual's comfort level. She truly values working hard to help her students achieve their goals and can help with every aspect of the medical application process. She has helped several medical students secure residency and is excited to help undergraduate students achieve the same success.
Dr. Dawson's approach focuses on listening to students and understanding their needs, followed by a detailed, step-by-step plan to achieve their goals while ensuring deadlines are met. Dr. Dawson’s goal is to ensure applicants feel they have someone they can rely on as you both work together to achieve success.
