Alanna's background spans clinical, research, and community settings. As a medical scribe at ScribeAmerica, she gained firsthand exposure to patient care and clinical documentation, and she also served as a dietary intern at a camp for children with type 1 diabetes. She spent two years as an undergraduate researcher in the metabolic health laboratory at the University of Vermont, where she co-authored a peer-reviewed publication in Experimental Physiology and Physiology on the effects of the Western diet and binge drinking on liver disease. Alanna also served as Co-Founder and President of UVM CHAARG, a women's fitness and wellness organization. She was recognized as a Patrick Leahy Honors College Scholar and a Presidential Scholar at UVM.
Alanna's passion for teaching developed over years of working as a swim instructor and swim team coach, during which she learned to tailor instruction to learners of all ages and skill levels. As an MCAT tutor, Alanna draws on her training in biology, biochemistry, and nutrition to meet students where they are, identify gaps in foundational knowledge, and build targeted study plans that address content weaknesses and test-taking strategy. She is passionate about helping others succeed on the MCAT and beyond.
