Meet the Panelists

Faith Huynh
Yale School of Medicine
Faith is a PA student at Yale School of Medicine. She grew up in Houston, TX and graduated with University Honors from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Medicine and Society. During her undergraduate career, Faith served as a Junior Fellow with the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship, as well as the Finance Branch Vice President and Accounting Director for the UH Delta Omega Chi Medical Service Society. She also worked with patients as an EMT and a PCT at MD Anderson Cancer Center, volunteered as a research assistant at UH, and was an avid volunteer in her community. As a PA student, Faith serves as the Connecticut PA Foundation Chair for her cohort and volunteers at the HAVEN Free Clinic in the Lab Department. Her research interests include clinical research within medical dermatology. Faith hopes to pursue a career in a surgical subspecialty or dermatology after graduating from YSM.
Ellen Watts
Columbia University College of Dental Medicine
Ellen is an admissions and advising professional with over 30 years of experience in higher education. She was the Director of Admissions at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine for 14 years. Over the years, she screened and evaluated thousands of applications and interviewed hundreds of pre-health candidates both in person and across the US during recruiting trips.Building on her understanding of admissions policies and strategies, she moved into the role of Assistant Dean of Students at Columbia University’s Post Baccalaureate Premedical and Pre-Health Program. She advised hundreds of students seeking admission to health professions programs. In addition to her advising duties, she organized the annual medical school fair at Columbia University, building strong relationships with professional school admissions deans nationwide. For over ten years, Ellen served as the Assistant Dean for Pre-Health Advising at Fordham University, where, working closely with students and alums, she built the pre-health program to be one of the strongest in the tri-state area. Building on her previous successes, Ellen is presently the Executive Director of Undergraduate and Post Baccalaureate Pre-health Advising at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.
