Nate Lord, Private MCAT Tutor at Inspira Advantage

Nate graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in Spanish before completing Bryn Mawr College's Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program on the Community Building Honor Roll. He earned a top score and is particularly confident in tutoring students to reach MCAT success, especially in the Bio/Biochem and Psych/Soc.

Nate's path toward medicine began in his senior year of high school, when he joined a mentorship program with his hometown's EMS system, shadowing 911 ambulance crews and writing a research paper on drone-delivered anti-overdose medication. He trained as an EMT and worked as a full-time first responder with the Richmond Ambulance Authority before attending college. Throughout his time at the University of Virginia, Nate served weekly with the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad, an all-volunteer organization. He now works as an emergency department technician in the pediatric emergency department at UVA Health and volunteers at the Charlottesville Free Clinic, where he assists with patient intake.

In college, Nate majored in Spanish and spent a semester abroad in Valencia, Spain. He also worked as a part-time math tutor for Spanish-speaking ESL students at Albemarle High School in Charlottesville, where he learned the value of patient, measured instruction and the importance of instilling confidence in students who are often more capable than they think. At Bryn Mawr, he volunteered as a medical interpreter and food bank assistant at Puentes de Salud, a nonprofit healthcare clinic serving Spanish-speaking patients in downtown Philadelphia.

Nate personally understands the transition from studying liberal arts to science and the unique challenges of non-traditional pre-medicine. He is eager to bring that perspective to help fellow pre-medical students excel on the MCAT. As a tutor, Nate firmly believes that a solid test-taking strategy is essential to mastering the exam's logic. Rather than focusing on large-volume content memorization, he emphasizes strategic reasoning and active engagement with the material.
