Heath’s undergraduate excellence was recognized through numerous honors, including induction into UVA's oldest honorary society and the Echols Scholars Program. He also received numerous accolades, including the Harrison Undergraduate Research Award and the Catherine F. Underwood ’89 Scholarship. He served as a University of Virginia Department of Chemistry teaching assistant for nearly two years, where he taught chemical concepts in lectures, office hours, and small groups for 40-student cohorts. He also adapted an entire month of curriculum to an online format for over 500 students—an experience that left him well-prepared and eager to work with students in virtual settings.

Before starting medical school, Heath worked as a clinical research coordinator with the University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics, supporting clinical trials across critical care, neurodevelopmental, infectious disease, and genetics research. He has also contributed to peer-reviewed research and presented work at national conferences. Now at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Heath works as a teaching assistant and tutor with Student Academic Support Services, where he facilitates one-on-one and group tutoring sessions for the medical school’s basic science curriculum and creates targeted study resources. 

Heath has years of experience providing individualized subject tutoring and teaching effective test-taking strategies, drawing on motivational interviewing techniques to help students refine their study habits and maximize their scores. His favorite section to tutor has always been CARS, not because of the content, but because it involves the most strategy and often trips up students who are more accustomed to science topics. His greatest strengths as an MCAT tutor lie in his ability to decode standardized exams by focusing on high-yield concepts and breaking down test-taking strategies. He takes the time to identify each student's strengths and areas for growth, then crafts a personalized study plan tailored to their goals. His approach is positive and empowering, and aims to simplify challenging material and foster a dynamic learning environment.

Heath’s passion for tutoring is rooted in a genuine love of teaching and mentorship. He understands that MCAT prep can feel overwhelming, and he is committed to helping students build not only the knowledge but also the confidence and study habits they need to succeed. He believes that many talented students who will make exceptional doctors often face hurdles with standardized testing, and he is dedicated to helping them overcome these challenges.
