Before attending medical school, Dr. Calderero earned a Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and mathematics from the University of Kentucky, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. Dr. Calderaro has received numerous awards recognizing academic achievement and service throughout undergrad, including the Donald T. Frazier Award for outstanding leadership and community outreach in neuroscience, multiple scholarships for academic excellence, such as the Cleveland Scholarship and Kentucky Heritage Scholarship, and recognition for excellence in service within the neuroscience community. His leadership experience includes serving as the Class Treasurer of his University of Cincinnati College of Medicine cohort and holding roles in organizations such as Phi Delta Epsilon and NeuroCATS.
Beyond academics, Dr. Calderaro has dedicated significant time to mentorship and community service. He is especially passionate about advocating for individuals with disabilities, volunteering with organizations such as Best Buddies, Special Olympics, and Camp PALS. His background as a soccer referee and tutor further strengthens his ability to break down complex concepts and support students in achieving their goals.
As an admissions coach, Dr. Calderaro focuses on helping students navigate the medical school application process with clarity and confidence. His experience conducting applicant interviews at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine provides him with valuable insight into what distinguishes successful applicants.
