Before attending Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Dr. Pyfer graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science in biology. She went on to complete a Master of Engineering in healthcare systems engineering at Lehigh, where she was a Presidential Scholarship recipient. Dr. Pyfer has held leadership roles as a student leader and simulation educator, and she mentored medical students and trainees through peer tutoring. She was recognized with the Excellence in Pediatrics Award at Sidney Kimmel and has continued to earn honors during residency, including the Pediatrics PGY1 Resident of the Year Award and the Best Platform Presentation at Pediatric Research Day.
Dr. Pyfer's research focuses on pediatric hematology and oncology. She has authored peer-reviewed publications in Blood, Women's Health Reports, Microbiology Resource Announcements, and Genome Announcements, and she has presented her work at national conferences and contributed to leading pediatric textbooks.
Dr. Pyfer is passionate about education and mentorship. Having successfully navigated the medical school admissions process herself, she understands the challenges applicants face and enjoys helping students craft compelling personal statements, strengthen their applications, prepare for interviews, and confidently present their unique stories. She is committed to providing thoughtful, individualized guidance that helps each applicant maximize their potential and achieve their goals.
