Dr. Katherine Bordes, Med School Admissions Consultant at Inspira Advantage

Dr. Bordes graduated with an MD from Tulane University School of Medicine, where she served as an admissions interviewer for three years, evaluating applicants through structured interviews and contributing to the selection of future physician leaders. She is currently an internal medicine resident at Baylor College of Medicine.

Before medical school, Dr. Bordes graduated from Wake Forest University with a BA in French studies and minors in chemistry and biology. She received multiple Dean’s List Honors, was inducted into the Beta Beta Beta National Biology Honor’s Society, and received the Harold Dawes Parcell Award for Excellence in French. She went on to complete Tulane’s Anatomy Certification & Leadership Program, where she was involved in clinical research, anatomy education, and student mentorship.

Dr. Bordes held multiple teaching and leadership roles at Tulane University School of Medicine, including being a peer-assisted learning specialist, Clerkship Review Leader, and fourth-year Clerkship Chief. In these positions, she mentored medical students, led academic review sessions, and developed educational initiatives designed to strengthen clinical preparedness and ease the transition into residency training. Dr. Bordes was selected for these roles in recognition of her strong academic performance, teaching ability, and dedication to student success.

Dr. Bordes has also contributed extensively to academic medicine through peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters in The Clinical Anatomy of the Vascular System, and national presentations in anatomy, oncology, and student-run clinic research. Her scholarly work has been presented at regional and national conferences, including the Society of Student-Run Free Clinics Conference. In recognition of her achievements, Dr. Bordes received the Excellence in Internal Medicine Award from the American College of Physicians and the Certificate of Outstanding Patient Care and Advocacy from the Tulane Student Clinic Council.

As an admissions consultant, Dr. Bordes brings a uniquely informed perspective shaped by personal experience and formal involvement in medical school admissions and mentorship. Having successfully navigated the challenges of a non-traditional path to medicine, she understands the importance of resilience, strategy, and authenticity in the application process. She is passionate about helping applicants craft compelling narratives, communicate their strengths, and approach each stage of the admissions journey with clarity and purpose.
