Undergrad: University of California, Davis
Medical School: Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Before attending medical school, Dr. Labins graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Davis, with a Bachelor’s in biochemistry and molecular biology. She received many awards at the undergraduate level, including the Academic Excellence Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Citation Award, the Academic Dean’s List Award, and the Regents Scholarship. After graduating, she worked as a research associate at Surrozen for a year before starting medical school.
At the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Labins served as a clinical skills teaching assistant, peer tutor, and biochemistry mentor, guiding medical students through clinical exam preparation, case-based learning, and foundational science concepts.
As a resident at UCLA, Dr. Labins continues to support medical students through educational initiatives. She volunteers with the Resident Champions program, where she helps develop simulation workshops that allow sub-interns to build hands-on procedural skills in anesthesiology.
In addition to her teaching and mentorship work, Dr. Labins is an active researcher with peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national anesthesiology conferences. She has also held leadership roles throughout her training, founding the Women in Anesthesiology chapter at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and serving as an elected class representative during residency.
As an admissions counselor, Dr. Labins focuses on helping students build strong academic foundations, refine application narratives, and approach the medical school application process with confidence and clarity. She finds deep fulfillment in helping students navigate the path to medicine and in making challenging scientific concepts accessible to future physicians.
