Dr. Gregory Wilson, Med School Admissions Consultant at Inspira Advantage

Dr. Wilson internal medicine resident at Cook County Health and Hospitals System. He graduated with an MD from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, where he served on the interview committee and as an admissions ambassador for three years. With five years of coaching experience, Dr. Wilson has helped students gain admission to medical schools at the University of Chicago, Rush University, the University of Mississippi, and others.

Before attending the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, Dr. Wilson earned a BA in biology from the University of Mississippi, graduating cum laude. During his undergraduate years, he served as a counselor with the University of Mississippi Bridge STEM Program for five years. He also mentored pre-medical students through the University of Mississippi IMAGE Program and continues to serve as a mentor today. 

During medical school, Dr. Wilson distinguished himself through both academic excellence and leadership, and was recognized as a Dee and Bill Keeton MD Scholar and IMPACT Scholar. He served as Class Diversity Chair and held multiple leadership roles within Black Representation in Medicine (BRIM), including President and Senior Representative. In these capacities, he founded key organizational structures, including drafting BRIM's first constitution, and helped expand the BRIM School of Pre-Medicine, a seminar-based mentorship initiative focused on navigating the medical school application process. He also volunteered at Jackson Free Clinic and the University of Illinois MedVan, providing patient care, preventive screenings, and clinical documentation for uninsured populations.

Throughout his academic journey, Dr. Wilson has been actively engaged in research and scholarly work. His research includes investigations in medical pharmacology examining inflammatory pathways in kidney disease, published in the American Journal of Physiology: Renal Physiology, as well as authorship of a clinical case report on SSRI-induced syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone (SIADH) presenting as resistant hyponatremia. He has presented his work at multiple academic forums and has also delivered lectures on critical thinking in healthcare, emphasizing the importance of analytical reasoning, logic, and clinical decision-making.

Dr. Wilson has been deeply involved in leadership and pipeline development initiatives, including the UM IMAGE Program, the BRIM School of Pre-Medicine, and JROTC mentorship for high school students. He is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the National Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians. His leadership extends to facilitating pipeline programs such as African American Visit Day and the Youth in Healthcare Symposium with Black Men in White Coats, where he has helped educate and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals through simulation and mentorship.

As a coach, Dr. Wilson draws on his clinical training, leadership experience, and deep involvement in admissions and mentorship to guide applicants through the medical school journey. He is particularly skilled at helping students identify and articulate their unique strengths while building cohesive, compelling applications. His personalized, thoughtful approach, combined with his firsthand experience evaluating candidates, allows him to provide strategic, high-impact guidance.
