Dr. Spediacci began her academic career at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she earned a degree in communication studies. Before entering veterinary medicine, she worked in animation and feature film production, including at DreamWorks Animation, and later returned to school as a non-traditional student to pursue veterinary medicine. At UC Davis, she combined clinical training with research experience and student leadership, including involvement with the Behavior Medicine and Animal Welfare Club. Dr. Spediacci later built a career in veterinary education and learning science, serving as Senior Veterinary Learning Strategist and Director of Learning at the American Animal Hospital Association.
As a research mentor, Dr. Spediacci brings together her backgrounds in veterinary medicine, scientific research, editing, and instructional design. She brings hands-on research and mentorship experience to guiding pre-vet students through the research process, and she is passionate about mentoring the next generation of veterinary professionals.
