Maggie has extensive experience tutoring students on the CARS sections of the exam.
Maggie set up her dad and stepmom. They have now been married for years.
Maggie is originally from Port Huron, Michigan, where she was a National Merit Scholar. She has combined her passion for science with an interest in healthcare disparities, as evidenced by her choice of minor. This interdisciplinary approach to her studies provides her with a specialized perspective on health and medicine.
Maggie's passion for education and her desire to help others accomplish their career goals drive her to tutor pre-med students. She knows that for many aspiring physicians, the MCAT is one of the biggest barriers to entry into medical school. She loves to help individuals who may struggle with standardized tests and test anxiety tackle this obstacle and pursue their goals.
As a tutor, Maggie goes beyond simply teaching content. She takes the time to get to know every student and understand their goals and passions. This personalized approach allows her to provide academic support, motivation, and encouragement throughout the challenging pre-medical journey. She approaches each session as a collaborative learning environment. She believes that tutoring is most effective when the student is an active participant; there is work that they need to put in both during their session and on their own time.
What sets Maggie apart as a tutor is her compassion for students and her flexibility. She understands that each student has a lot going on in their life, which may impact how much time and energy they can commit to their studying. As such, she is very flexible with students, always willing to adjust the plan based on their changing needs.
