Nate attended USC and earned a dual Bachelor's in health promotion and disease prevention and a Master's in global medicine. His outstanding academic performance earned him the Trustee Scholar status, a full-ride merit scholarship to USC. Following graduation, Nate gained clinical research experience working as a coordinator at Children's Hospital Los Angeles in endocrinology and neonatology during his gap year.
Nate's leadership skills are evident in his role as Student Body President and his involvement on the board of the LGBTQ+ medical student interest group. His research prowess was recognized during his participation in the NIH-funded USC/CHLA Summer Oncology Research Fellowship, where he was named a UH Guild-Darlene Dufau Reid Endowed Scholar for his potential in oncology. Additionally, Nate’s neuroscience PhD research has focused on ADHD medication on adolescent brain structure using MRI.
Throughout his academic career, Nate has been a dedicated mentor to dozens of students interested in STEM and pre-health fields, starting from his undergraduate years. His passion for mentorship, combined with his extensive experience in admissions, makes him exceptionally skilled at helping applicants strengthen their voices and navigate the critical and personal decisions involved in applying to medical school. Nate takes pride in building strong, personalized relationships with students, offering tailored support no matter where they are in their academic journey. Students he has coached have gained acceptance to top medical schools, such as UCSF, Stanford, USC, UMass Chan Med, U of Michigan, Dartmouth, UCSD, and others.
As a coach, Nate likes to navigate the process collaboratively with students to craft the best application possible while honoring their values and respecting their individuality. Nate is incredibly passionate about helping the next generation of future physicians demystify the application process and create compelling narratives to maximize their chances of acceptance.
