During college, Maguire was recognized with Dean’s List honors every semester and was selected for induction into the Nu Rho Psi National Honor Society in Neuroscience. Throughout her undergraduate years, she served as a teaching assistant for the Notre Dame Biology Department and as an English tutor for the Notre Dame Center for the Study of Languages, working with both undergraduate and graduate students. Her passion for teaching extended internationally when she interned as a teaching assistant at a center for adults with intellectual disabilities in London, UK. She has also volunteered as a grade school tutor and worked as a preschool teacher at Notre Dame’s Early Childhood Development Center, giving her experience teaching learners from early childhood through the postgraduate level.
In addition to her teaching background, Maguire has a strong foundation in research and service. She worked as a research assistant in the Notre Dame Memory, Aging, and Cognition Lab, where she served as a Project Lead for the Science of Wellness study, investigating the impact of stress exposure and resilience on Alzheimer’s disease neuropathology. She also completed her undergraduate capstone thesis through the Notre Dame Hillebrand Center for Compassionate Care in Medicine. Outside the classroom, Maguire served as a project lead with e-NABLE, designing and producing free 3D-printed prostheses for individuals with limb differences.
In dental school, Maguire continued to take on leadership and mentorship roles. She served on the executive committee of Bridging the Gap, a student group that supports pre-dental students through mentorship and guidance. She was also involved in organizations like Give Kids a Smile, Magical Moments Foundation, and the Special Care Dentistry Association. Maguire is a recipient of the Dr. Claude A. Adams Jr. & Mrs. Grace P. Adams Dental Merit Scholarship.
As a DAT tutor, Maguire blends exceptional academic performance with over five years of diverse teaching experience. She began tutoring in high school and has since taught students ranging from preschool to post-graduate levels. Her warm, student-centered approach helps aspiring dental students feel supported, confident, and prepared for test day. Maguire’s individualized study strategies and deep understanding of test content, combined with her calm and encouraging style, create a positive learning experience that empowers students to perform at their best.
Maguire is deeply passionate about mentorship and education, driven by her belief that strong guidance can be transformative during demanding academic journeys. She is motivated by the opportunity to give back the same thoughtful mentorship she benefited from as a pre-dental student herself.
