Dr. Vanikaa Keswani, Med School Admissions Consultant at Inspira Advantage

Dr. Keswani is a pediatric resident at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Fresno program. She earned a DO from A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine, following an accelerated BS in biology and chemistry from the University of San Francisco. With over seven years of mentorship experience and three years serving on UCSF Fresno’s pediatric residency interviewing committee, Dr. Keswani brings a well-rounded, insightful perspective to the admissions process.

Throughout college, medical school, and residency, Dr. Keswani has been actively involved in numerous community-focused organizations. She served as a Stanford Diabetes Program coach during medical school and as a mental health first aid ambassador. Additionally, she has mentored numerous pre-medical students through programs such as Central Valley’s Mi Mentor initiative, the UC Davis Pre-Med Coaching Program, and as a proud University of San Francisco alumna mentor.

In recognition of her dedication to service, Dr. Keswani received the Gold and Silver Translating Osteopathic Understanding into Community Health (TOUCH) Awards for completing more than 75 and 35 hours of community service, respectively. She has presented her research and advocacy work at national conferences, including the National Association of Community Health Centers, and co-authored educational publications such as Nutrition for Kids through Unite for Literacy.

During residency, Dr. Keswani further strengthened her understanding of the medical admissions process by serving on the admissions committee, participating in applicant interviews, and engaging with candidates through social events. This firsthand experience has given her deep insight into what medical schools truly look for in successful applicants—from personal statements and interview skills to professionalism and authenticity.

Dr. Keswani’s passion for mentoring stems from her own journey as a first-generation immigrant and future physician, having navigated the medical education system without family members in medicine to guide her. She understands the challenges of this process and is committed to helping others find confidence and clarity along the way. Students she has worked with have been accepted to multiple UC system and DO medical schools.

As a medical school admissions counselor, Dr. Keswani offers sessions that are organized, goal-oriented, and highly personalized. She takes the time to understand each student’s unique background, strengths, and aspirations. Her approach blends empathy with practical strategy—helping students craft compelling application narratives, prepare for interviews, and highlight their individuality in a competitive field.

Students who work with Dr. Keswani often describe her as both a supportive friend and an inspiring mentor. She strives not only to help students gain admission to their dream schools but also to build their confidence and professional identity as future physicians.
