Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Dr. Gabriel graduated summa cum laude with a degree in biochemistry from Sewanee: The University of the South, where he was elected as the President of the school’s Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Med Honor Society and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society. Additionally, he conducted research in molecular biology and behavioral neuroscience through Yale University’s Semester Program and was awarded the Beecken Scholarship and Stanford Merit Scholarship while completing a certificate in Business Management at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Dr. Gabriel went on to earn his MD from Harvard Medical School, achieving Honors with Distinction. His academic excellence was recognized through scholarships, including the Taco Bell Scholarship and the REACH Scholarship. At Harvard, he became a nationally recognized researcher in orthopedic surgery, presenting at major conferences for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. Dr. Gabriel has built a portfolio of over 40 academic presentations and publications focusing on spine deformity, robotics, and value-based care delivery. He also served as a research fellow at Boston's Children’s Hospital.
As a first-generation college and medical student, Dr. Gabriel is deeply committed to mentoring applicants from all backgrounds, including international, first-generation, and underrepresented students. He has guided dozens of mentees to med school success through his work with F-1 Doctors, the MV3 Foundation, and community mentorship initiatives that he helped design. His coaching style blends strategic application planning with a focus on helping students uncover the deeper narrative that sets them apart. He believes that a strong application doesn’t just inform, it inspires.
Dr. Gabriel’s strength lies in his ability to distill complex experiences into powerful personal statements and interviews, while keeping students grounded, confident, and authentically themselves. He brings the same dedication to coaching that he brings to patient care: intentional listening, honest feedback, and a roadmap tailored to each student’s goals.
