During his undergraduate studies, Donovan conducted research supported by the UCSB Undergraduate Research & Creative Activities (URCA) Grant, reinforcing a careful, analytical approach to learning and problem‑solving. He has participated in dental service trips in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, Colombo, Sri Lanka, experiences that strengthened his commitment to dentistry and patient care.
As a tutor, Donovan draws on his experience as a learning assistant for UCSB’s MCDB 1B (Introductory Biology) course, where he helped students strengthen core concepts, refine their exam approaches, and build effective study habits under time pressure. He has also worked one‑on‑one with peers and is known for being approachable, direct, and highly organized in his teaching. Donovan focuses on helping students simplify complex topics into clear frameworks, prioritize high‑yield material, and develop repeatable strategies for timed practice. He is passionate about mentorship and takes pride in helping students reach their potential, especially when the DAT feels overwhelming at the start of preparation.
