Dr. Castro’s early work as an undergraduate research assistant at Florida International University involved single-cell imaging protocols, advanced microscopy, and mass spectrometry, and he later expanded his academic interests during medical school through 10+ poster and oral presentations. Dr. Castro has presented extensively at regional and national conferences, including the Association of Academic Physiatrists, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Florida Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the Student Osteopathic Medical Association.
During medical school at Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Castro authored and presented multiple peer-reviewed case reports and abstracts across neurology, rehabilitation, and vascular medicine, earning national research awards. His research experience spans the areas of behavioral and social sciences in health and public health.
