Dr. Chokkara is an avid traveler, having visited 20+ countries with goals to explore many more. He has a great love for food and enjoys experiencing diverse cuisine. He also plays pickleball, video games, and practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
An accomplished researcher, Dr. Chokkara is passionate about improving healthcare outcomes and the quality of care. He has published numerous studies examining the treatment of patients with COPD and asthma, as well as research on the inclusivity of COVID-19 clinical trials for traditionally underrepresented patient populations.
Throughout his medical career, Dr. Chokkara has conducted extensive research applying informatics and machine learning to analyze national trends in healthcare quality and develop readmission prediction tools. These experiences have sharpened his analytical skills and given him unique insight into the potential of emerging technologies to drive data-driven decision-making in medicine. Looking ahead, he hopes to explore how big data and machine learning can be leveraged to enhance patient care.
Dr. Chokkara has also served as a teaching assistant for several courses at the University of Chicago. His experience interviewing prospective students has given him an insider’s perspective on the medical school admissions process, deepening his understanding of what makes an applicant stand out. He leverages this expertise to help students strengthen their applications and navigate this pivotal stage of their careers. For him, the most rewarding part of advising is helping applicants find their voice and present their most authentic, compelling selves. Students he has coached have gained acceptance to top medical schools such as Case Western, Northwestern, the University of Miami, Texas A&M, and Tulane.
One of Dr. Chokkara’s greatest strengths as a coach is guiding applicants in crafting compelling narratives that showcase their motivations for pursuing medicine. A true New Yorker at heart, Dr. Winchester loves a good everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and enjoys long runs in Central Park. She is also a fan of exploring the city's vibrant cocktail scene, drawing from her experience as a bartender during her college years.
Dr. Winchester completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia College at Columbia University, receiving a full academic scholarship as an honored John Jay Scholar. While pursuing her studies, she worked in a genomics lab conducting bench research.
After her undergraduate education, Dr. Winchester took a two-year break to work in clinical research. She initially worked for Dr. Chan, exploring the role of genetic mutations in sensorineural hearing loss, and then focused on clinical research projects involving virology and the spread of disease at the NYULH Department of Emergency Medicine. Despite her busy schedule, she also tutored high school students in preparation for the SAT/ACT while applying to medical schools herself. Dr. Winchester attended NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s accelerated 3-year pathway and is training in the Department of Otolaryngology. After residency, she hopes to pursue a fellowship in Neurotology.
Throughout her academic journey, Dr. Winchester has always been passionate about mentorship. She has tutored middle schoolers in science and math and assisted them with SAT/ACT preparation and college essays. While in medical school, she was involved in admissions, participating in the NYU multiple mini interview process.
As an admissions coach, Dr. Winchester enjoys helping students identify and communicate their strengths and passions through their applications. Recognizing that every applicant has key strengths that they need to frame, she enjoys helping them determine their best approach. Her greatest strengths include helping students develop their personal stories and organization – think a good to-do list and lots of color coding!

Dr. Akrobetu enjoys listening to podcasts at 2x speed, stays active by playing soccer and hiking, and has a keen interest in breweries, live music, and concerts.
Dr. Akrobetu graduated with a 3.99 GPA from Davidson College, where he majored in biology and minored in chemistry. His outstanding academic performance and involvement in several research projects, including investigations into the genetics of mitochondrial morphology and glycopolymer scaffold synthesis, earned him grant funding to travel to the University of Dusseldorf in Germany for his research. His exceptional achievements in scientific research at the undergraduate level were recognized with the prestigious National Goldwater Scholarship.
After graduation, Dr. Akrobetu earned an MD from Duke University School of Medicine. During his time at Duke, he demonstrated strong leadership skills, serving as class president and spearheading an annual, year-long educational program for underprivileged high school students interested in medicine. His dedication to academic excellence and community engagement was evident in his medical school application, which received the highest possible rating from Davidson College in its internal review process.
As the first in his family to become a doctor, Dr. Akrobetu took it upon himself to learn the ins and outs of the medical school application process and is passionate about making medical school accessible for everyone, regardless of background. His commitment to equity and inclusion in medical education is a driving force behind his coaching success.
