Dr. Okafor began her higher education journey at James Madison University, where she graduated with a BS in psychology, was a Division I basketball standout, and earned the Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award. A former professional athlete, Dr. Okafor made the jump from sports to medicine.
Dr. Okafor brings to her work a rare blend of clinical insight, mentorship, and motivational leadership. Her passion for empowering aspiring professionals—especially those from underrepresented and non-traditional backgrounds—has guided numerous students to achieve acceptances at leading medical institutions, including the Medical College of Wisconsin, SUNY Upstate Medical University, Albany Medical College, Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine.
As an admissions coach, Dr. Okafor excels in helping candidates craft compelling personal narratives that highlight resilience, leadership, and purpose. Her background as both a physician and a former athlete uniquely positions her to guide students through high-stakes, competitive processes with confidence and clarity. With over a decade of experience in academic advising, editing, and professional development, Dr. Okafor has earned a reputation as a trusted mentor and advocate.
