Dr. Shanmugasundaram is a pediatric–medical genetics resident at the University of Colorado, training at one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals. She earned an MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she served on the admissions committee as an interviewer. Dr. Shanmugasundaram brings both clinical expertise and a deep understanding of the medical school application process to her work as a counselor.

Dr. Purrinos is a diagnostic radiology resident at the University of Miami/Jackson Health System. He earned a BS from Florida International University and an MD from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he served as an admissions interviewer. Students he has mentored have earned acceptance to medical schools at the University of Miami, the University of Pennsylvania, Duke University, WashU, the University of Florida, and others.

Dr. Griffith graduated from Rush Medical College with an MD, ranked in the top 15% of her class, and is a dermatology resident at Rush University Medical Center. She brings 10 years of mentorship experience and an insider perspective to admissions counseling, shaped by her experiences as a high-achieving applicant, educator, researcher, and mentor within academic medicine.

Dr. Scallon earned a BS in physics from the University of South Florida, an MSc in engineering physics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and an MD from All Saints University School of Medicine. He has more than a decade of mentorship experience and served as a professor at Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University and Liberty University, and an instructor at the Ultimate Medical Academy.

Dr. Hu earned an MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and then became an ophthalmology resident at Loyola University Chicago. As a class representative on the Career Student Advisory Committee, she guided administrative decisions and the logistical implementation of large-scale career advising, helping connect students and mentors at multiple levels.

Dr. Kulkarni earned a BS in biomedical sciences with a minor in leadership studies from the University of South Florida and an MD from the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. He brings three years of admissions and recruitment experience as a Medical Student Ambassador with FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine Admissions and Recruitment, where he interviewed and evaluated applicants and led student tours.

Dr. Dharani is a family medicine resident at Houston Methodist Hospital, where she serves as an admissions committee member and interviewer for her residency program. She graduated with a DO from the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM), where she served as an admissions interviewer. She has reviewed and interviewed 100+ applicants, and brings eight years of coaching experience to her role as a medical school admissions consultant.

Dr. Mirzania is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with extensive experience in medical education leadership and admissions advising. She earned an MD from Duke University School of Medicine, where she served as a medical student representative on the Dean’s Advisory Council and worked closely with the admissions office as a liaison. She completed her residency at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center, where she served on the residency selection committee.

Dr. Shi has 10 years of coaching and admissions committee experience, including serving as an interviewer for the University of Utah School of Medicine and the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service Fellowship.

Dr. Hasani is an internal medicine resident at Cooper University Health Care. He earned an MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School with research distinction and multiple institutional scholarships, completed an MS in physiology and biophysics at Georgetown University, and holds a BS in biology from George Mason University. Dr. Hasani has over 10 years of coaching experience, including serving as an applicant interviewer at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where he evaluated 100+ applicants.

Dr. Marion is a board-certified pediatric hospitalist with over a decade of experience in mentorship, admissions, and medical education. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a BA in foreign language and literature, then earned an MD from Morehouse School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at the same institution. Dr. Marian served on the admissions committee at Morehouse School of Medicine and the institution’s pediatric residency program.

Dr. Khan is an orthopedic surgery resident at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He earned an MD from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University College of Medicine, graduating with Distinction in Research. Before attending medical school, he graduated from the New York University Stern School of Business with a BS in finance and economics. Dr. Ng is a board-certified pediatrician and pediatric hospitalist currently practicing at Kaiser Permanente Northern California. She earned a BA from the University of California, San Diego, an MD from Albany Medical College, and completed her pediatric residency training at Kaiser Permanente Northern California, followed by a pediatric hospital medicine fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. Currently, she serves as an interviewer on the Kaiser Permanente Northern California residency admissions team.

Dr. Das is an ophthalmology resident at Loyola University of Chicago who earned an MD from the University of Maryland School of Medicine with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. Prior to this, she earned a BS from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has over 5 years of experience mentoring students through the medical school admissions process, including serving as a medical school application screener and interviewer at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Dr. Zafar earned an MD from the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Before medical school, he completed a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences at the University at Buffalo, graduating summa cum laude with Honors. He later completed his transitional year at Northwell Health’s Mather Hospital before beginning a radiology residency at Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Zafar also served on the Jacobs School of Medicine’s admissions committee as an interviewer.

Dr. Shah is an internal medicine resident physician at the University of Colorado, where he has also accepted a junior partnership position in hospital medicine following his training. Before attending Albany Medical College, he completed the nationally recognized Leadership in Medicine combined BS/MD/MBA program, gaining early exposure to medical education and healthcare systems. Dr. Shah has admissions experience as an interviewer for Albany Medical College and admissions panelist for the Leadership in Medicine Program.

Dr. Ekwonu earned an MD from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where she also served as a member of the student admissions committee, interviewing candidates, conducting holistic reviews, ranking candidates, and participating in committee deliberations. Before attending Pritzker, she graduated with honors in psychology from the University of Chicago. She is currently a psychiatry resident at Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System.

Dr. Castro earned a BA in chemistry from Florida International University, an MPH from George Washington University, and a DO from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. After a transitional year at the University of Miami/Holy Cross Health, Dr. Castro will continue his training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Broward Health. With admissions experience as a question-and-answer liaison at Nova Southeastern, Dr. Castro offers valuable insight into applicant evaluation and interview performance.

Dr. Reeson graduated with an MD from Creighton University School of Medicine–Phoenix, where she served on the admissions committee for four years. As an admissions committee member, Dr. Reeson reviewed 200+ applications, conducted interviews, and advised on admissions. Now an orthopedic surgery resident at Rush University Medical Center, Dr. Reeson uses her strong background in academics, admissions, and research to help applicants approach the med school application process with confidence.

Dr. Koskey earned an MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where she served as an admissions interviewer. She completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Health in Dallas before serving as an admissions interviewer, reviewer, and Chief Resident at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. With four years of admissions committee experience, Dr. Koskey has reviewed 250+ applications and interviewed 150+ candidates, giving her keen insight into what medical schools seek in students.

Dr. Reddy completed a highly selective seven-year accelerated BS/MD program on a four-year merit-based scholarship from Augusta University and the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta, where he served as an admissions interviewer and counselor. Following medical school, Dr. Reddy trained as a neurosurgery resident at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, one of the nation’s premier academic neurosurgery programs, and served on their admissions committee as an interviewer as well.

Dr. Offenbacher attended a seven-year BS/MD program, completing her undergraduate studies at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at CUNY School of Medicine and an MD at SUNY Downstate School of Medicine, where she also served as an admissions ambassador. Dr. Jiser is a board-certified general surgeon with expertise in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, and bariatric surgery. He earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Cornell University before completing an MD at New York Medical College, where he was awarded a Trustee Scholarship and served on the admissions committee as a student member. Dr. Malige is an orthopedic surgeon and partner at Advanced Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. Dr. Go is board-certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine. Dr. Grugan is a board-certified emergency medicine physician who completed a degree in biopsychology at Pennsylvania State University and earned an MD from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. He then went on to complete his emergency medicine residency at the renowned Cook County Hospital in Chicago, where he trained in one of the nation’s busiest and most challenging clinical environments.

Dr. Caruso graduated summa cum laude from Kennesaw State University before earning an MD from the Medical College of Georgia. He then matched into an anesthesiology residency program at the Advocate Masonic Medical Center. Dr. Caruso has served as an MMI interviewer for the Medical College of Georgia and a Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) member for his anesthesiology residency program, giving him insight into what distinguishes successful applicants across training levels.

Dr. Broussard is a board-certified anesthesiologist who was accepted into the University of Houston/Baylor College of Medicine BS/MD program while still in high school. She earned a BS in biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Houston before graduating with an MD from the Baylor College of Medicine. She served as a voting member on the Baylor School of Medicine’s admission committee, evaluating over 1,000+ applications over four years.

Dr. Okoli is an emergency medicine physician who graduated with an MD from the Tufts University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Advocate Christ Medical Center, followed by a Medical Education Fellowship at the University of Michigan, earning a Master of Health Professions Education. Dr. Okoli has six years of admissions committee experience, evaluating hundreds of applications and interviewing candidates for the Tufts University School of Medicine, Advocate Christ Medical Center, and the University of Michigan’s Medical Education Fellowship program.

Dr. Davis is a DO board-certified in internal medicine, pain medicine, and medical affairs. Dr. Diamond-Myrsten is a family physician, medical educator, and mentor with 20+ years of experience coaching future healthcare professionals. Dr. Alpert is a pediatrician, educator, and admissions mentor with nearly two decades of experience in clinical medicine and medical education. She currently serves as a faculty member at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she teaches medical students and residents and co-facilitates trainee support groups.
